In 16 to 60, I wanted to explore the journey of one life through the metaphor of driving. As my husband, Dennis, was approaching his 60th birthday, I reflected on his life, our life together, and a song I wrote for his 50th. That one never reached beyond the walls of our house in Seattle at the time, and was too specific for it to make sense for

In 16 to 60, I wanted to explore the journey of one life through the metaphor of driving. As my husband, Dennis, was approaching his 60th birthday, I reflected on his life, our life together, and a song I wrote for his 50th. That one never reached beyond the walls of our house in Seattle at the time, and was too specific for it to make sense for anyone else. For this one, pretty much everyone can relate to the excitement of getting your license at 16 years old and flooring it to hit 60 on the highway for the first time. With so much opportunity and road ahead, we rush into life with our newfound freedom. With so many choices and paths to take, we’re sometimes pressed ahead on a path not chosen. We sometimes double back. We sometimes take a side road to return to our original path or even explore something new.

Be Bold

Be Bold is a journey of confidence and truth. Most of these songs were written somewhat therapeutically to help process elements of my past and current struggles. From depression, heartache, joy, love, sorrow, to simply existing as a gay person, I invite you to experience this journey with me.
